My beautiful Noodle boy, a grey and white cat with his mouth open mid-yowl, singing the song of his people and inviting you to write night

Future You Will Thank You

“Why are you dithering?” said Joe.

“Me? I’m not dithering,” said I.

“Yes, you’re dithering. What are you doing?”

“I have many things to do and I’m not doing them. Shout at me.”

“I’m not going to shout at you,” he said. “What’s the most important thing?”

“All of it!” I wail.

“No,” he said. “One of them is more important. Tell me.”

I think we all need a Joe in our lives.

Today, I am your Joe, because sometimes we just need someone to take charge and say THIS THING RIGHT HERE NOW GO DO IT.

This email you’re reading is the result of that. I had to get it done before the weekend, see. So I’m writing it in the past having just had that conversation right up there ☝🏼☝🏼☝🏼

Et voilà!

If we wanna do a thing, we have to make time for it.

And look: I don’t hold with this idea that we all the same 24 hours in a day.

We all have 24 hours, for sure—unless you’re reading this on Mars or something in which case HI PLEASE CONTACT ME BECAUSE WE NEED TO TALK.

But our 24 hours are not the same. I don’t have children or a third job.

(I do have three ridiculous TinySheep and a house that’s made of holes and hope, but I chose those things. Or they chose me. Or something. But anyway.)

That being said…

We still get to choose where we put the time we do have.

We make time for what matters to us in the moment.

And sometimes Past Us has to make decisions for Future Us that Present Us can damn well stick to.

Which brings me neatly to Write Night and that thing you’ve been wanting to write but, for whatever reason, have not been writing.

Maybe now is the time because when we don’t create the things we really want to create, we die a little bit inside.

Come and live large with me on the SIXTH Write Night, next Thursday May 26 at 7.30 pm BST until midnight. (Or as long as you can stay alert.)

It’s SO much fun, just ask anyone who’s been—and some folks have been to ALL of them and have all the badges to prove it.

Find out everything you need to know here or ask me a question by return email!

Book your spot now.

Do it for Future You.

But if time isn’t your issue and you’re stuckstuckstuck and you desperately want to write a book, well then I can help with that too.

Figuring out why you’re stuck is one of the things we dig deep into during a Book Breakthrough Jam, in which we get really clear on why you’re writing your book, the Reader Journey, your core message, and your outline. You leave knowing exactly what to do next—and what to keep doing every day after that.

Or book a call with me here and we’ll talk.
