Language shapes how we think and who we are.
Learning another language changes us, makes us see things differently—even learning a foreign language song, and taking the time to understand it a little more deeply, can give us insights into a new world.
Today’s prompt is all about language.
Even if we don’t speak a foreign language, per se, we each speak and understand a slightly different dialect.
So I’d like you to consider how we hear things differently, depending on who’s speaking, and where, and why.
When have you misunderstood something—or gained a new understanding of the world—because of the language used?
