December 22: How to get people to act, and not just read

Behind door 22 is…

The secret of action.

Ours, and our readers’.

If we want people to actually do something with the info they gather — whether that’s change their behaviour, take an action, or buy something — we have to get them feeling something first.

No emotional response → no decision.

(This is neuroscience, btw, not just me making shit up)

Anyway, I wrote an article about it a while ago, and I hope you find it helpful:

✍🏼Writing Prompt ✍🏼

Emotions: are they appropriate in books?

What books have you read that made you laugh, or cry, or enraged?

How did they get you to tap into those feelings?

Set a timer for 5 minutes and write!

TTFN,

Vicky
