She knocked my dino-print socks off 🦕 🧦

In every round of MicroBook Magic my clients knock my dinosaur-print socks off but every now and then someone just boggles me.

Like Laura, who is a marketing professor at Warwick Uni, and runs Think Talk Thrive, a professional development and career strategy agency, AND is the co-founder of Esteem, a training and consultancy company that helps develop marketing capability AND has small children.

Her Mastermind subject would be “resilience” and so she decided to write a book on that very topic. On top of all her other life and business shenanigans.

Laura loved writing her book so much she got up at 4.30am every day.

That’s dedication.

Now I will never ever tell anyone they have to join the 5am club, let alone the 4.30am club. That time is for hedgehogs returning from parties only.

But it gave me the warm and fuzzies when she told me about it.

Laura is a really smiley wonderful white woman with long blonde hair and glasses. She’s wearing a stunning pink jacket with detailed cuffs and holding a bunch of flowers. Behind her is a big banner for her new book “Brilliantly Bouncy”.

Lemme tell you a bit more about Laura and her book, please, because you need to get a copy (it will change your life in the best teeny but impactful ways) and you need to get into her world because she’s just magnificent.

The Book:

Brilliantly Bouncy (which is a title that always makes me snort because I am, at heart, a 12-year-old boy) is a cool, fun, and practical take on resilience — not just when the world is heaping trauma and drama on our heads, but in our daily humdrum too. Laura’s book shows us how we build resilience through our everyday actions and experiences, and how to intentionally do that through tiny beetle steps and being, basically, a bit of a silly billy sometimes.

Why Laura Wrote the Book:

“I give keynotes and run workshops on resilience, and I’ve learned so much from my own journey. I wanted to write something that would really connect — not a textbook, but a book that’s relatable, friendly, and (I hope) funny too.”

Laura wanted to:

  • Reach more people with a new, positive perspective on resilience
  • Move beyond academic writing to a warmer, more accessible, more HER voice
  • Use the book as a strategic tool for opening up speaking and workshop opportunities

Why MicroBook Magic:

“Writing a book is a different task from writing for work. I needed help finding my voice, structuring the content, and navigating the publishing process — all of it was new.”

Laura chose the VIP version for:

  • Lots of personal support
  • Extra strategic guidance on publishing and promotion
  • Deeper accountability

The Experience:

“Working with Vicky was a joy. I loved every second. Even as someone who writes for a living, I learned so much from her.”

She appreciated:

  • Thoughtful, intentional support that met her where she was — not a one-size-fits-all giant group of inflexible templates
  • A diverse, inspiring peer group to learn and create with (they’re still chatting shit with each other now, six months after the program officially ended)
  • Proven, tried, and tested tools and frameworks that made the process simple and clear — with options if they didn’t work for someone

The Results:

✅ Confidence – “I really found my voice.”
✅ Joy – “I got up at 4:30am to write because I loved it so much.”
✅ Clarity – “It sharpened my thinking in unexpected ways.”

“I honestly can’t imagine having written this book without Vicky. If you’re thinking about writing a book — do it. And do it with her.”

Your book could be next! And I will defo not make you get up at 4.30am (or even suggest it — unless you want to).

I’m not running MicroBook Magic again until October.

But I do have two ways you can work with me this summer:

  1. I have ONE spot for Book Coach In Your Pocket starting in July.
  2. I have ONE spot for my 3-month coaching program starting in July.

If you’re not sure which one is right for you, book a quick triage call here and we’ll figure it out.
