A little creative writing exercise for you today.
Think of a few anecdotes—stuff that’s happened to you, or someone you know, or just stuff.
Write them down.
Then add: “…and the moral of the story was” and add a moral.
So if the story was serious, make the moral absolutely ridiculous—and vice versa.
For example: I was on my way to the dentist, and I was in a rush because I had three other appointments and I’d forgotten to factor in travel time. I was going to be late and then there was a road accident and I WAS late, and the dentist had to rush things, and now I can’t feel the left side of my face. And the moral of the story is: never trust calendars because they let you schedule multiple things back to back without reminding you that you can’t instantaneously teleport like in Star Trek.
You can probably do better.
Have at it!
Set a timer for 5 minutes and have fun.
